The Secular Inheritors
“so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
— Jesus · Matthew 5:45Unbelievers live inside a Christian-shaped calendar, law, moral vocabulary and architecture — the refusal happens inside the inheritance.
A non-Christian may still encounter calendars, holidays, legal traditions, buildings and moral vocabularies partly shaped by Christian history. The extent varies by place and practice, and those inheritances were also shaped by non-Christian traditions, migration, state policy, commerce and secularization.
This is graded interpretive, not citable, and the objection is printed: nothing-would-be-different is unfalsifiable in the other direction too. The entry argues from documents, not from inevitability.
This is an interpretive synthesis: the sources support elements of the story, but the overall causal weight remains open to historical debate. Grade note: the historical record and pathway are especially well established
Nothing-would-be-different is unfalsifiable in the other direction too; that is why this is graded interpretive and argued from documents, not sneered.
